Seminar & Conference Halls

Training & Programme Division has a well-maintained seminar and conference hall which has a sitting capacity of more than 200 persons. The seminar hall is equipped with advanced audio-visual system for conducting academic conferences and discussions.

Hostel

The T&P Division has its separate hostel and guest house facility in addition to what is available to PGP students of KIMDS. The guest house facility is exclusively for visiting researchers, scholars and trainers coming from various parts of India and abroad. T&P Division has a well ventilated and maintained 70 rooms for the accommodation of participants for training and research purposes.

Research and Applied Action Research

KIMDS, Research and Training Division has been undertaking empirical studies on various themes like- understanding rural change, impact of digitalization on rural people, self- employment; understanding the needs & requirements of Jharkhand tribes with special focus on Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs), impact of PESA and Panchayat Raj institutions decentralisation; rural technology; natural resources, environmental concerns, rural infrastructure and basic minimum social services like – health, housing , water and sanitation, programme planning and management, etc. Training & Programme Division has also undertaken many monitoring and evaluation studies to assess the impact of inclusive education interventions, rural development programmes, and analyse the research, training and teaching needs of the rural people. The action research programmes of T&P Division mainly focuses on specific issues in nature and scope. Mainly this T&P DIVISION has been working on the Sustainable Development Goals focusing the rural context of Jharkhand.

Publications and Information Dissemination Centre

The T&P DIVISION of KIMDS publishes its various research works. Compendium of different seminars conducted under its aegis are also compiled. Noteworthy amongst its recent publication are Impact of Inclusive Education Intervention, Is Tetri on Road to Sustainable Development, Development in our Village: Today and Tomorrow, to name only a few. Research work undertaken by the Training & Programme Division of KIMDS have received appreciation from research scholars, academicians, governmental officials and policy makers.

Data Processing Unit Cum IT Centre

Training & Programme Division has its well-equipped and developed Computer Department. The research data are processed and analysed by the team of experts. Data gathered through field are verified by our research team before going for final entry or analysis. The team has well experienced and knowledgeable data analysists who are capable on working on the software’s like – SPSS, etc..

Information & Documentation Centre

Training & Programme Division has established its independent Media and Research Documentation section which is headed by an experienced team of faculties and research scholars. The Training & Programme Division has well established Library with a collection

of 8792 books. It also subscribes to numerous research journals in the field of tribal and rural development, sustainability and environment, etc.
